Fernando Ceña graduated in Architecture from the Technical University of Madrid in 2011. After working for three years in Madrid for different architecture firms like Linazasoro/Sánchez and Rojo/Fernández-Shaw, he was accepted at the University of Columbia where he received the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in 2014. Upon graduation, he became research assistant for Professor Kenneth Frampton in the History and Theory Department, while at the same time he worked at Meis Architects in New York. In 2018 he completed the Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication at ETH Zürich, after which he started to collaborate in the Augmented Brickwork project, as a continuation of his master thesis.
