After two years of architectural studies in Bucharest Stefana Parascho transferred to the University of Stuttgart where she developed her strong interest in geometry and computational design while studying at the Institute for Computational Design and the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design under the lead of Prof. A. Menges and Prof. J. Knippers. During and after her studies she worked at Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering on facade constructions and geometry issues and in designtoproduction on the development and programming of complex construction systems. After her studies Stefana Parascho was involved in the planning and realization of the ICD/ITKE Research Pavilion 2013-14 as a research associate at the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design. She has taught several seminars and workshops at the University of Stuttgart and in Romania. Her research focus has been integrative design methods through the application of biological principles such as self-organisation or evolutionary algorithms. Since September 2014 Stefana Parascho is a PhD researcher at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication (Prof. Fabio Gramazio, Prof. Matthias Kohler) at the ETH Zurich and joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication. |
