After finishing his bachelors in mechanical engineering in Vienna, Austria, Marvin Rueppel worked at Tallin University in Estonia where he discovered Robotics. This brought him to pursue a Master in Robotics at the ETH Zurich at the IDSC and the flying machine arena. Next to his studies he followed a professional breakdance career which spread into a broader extreme sports relationship with several companies which ranges from part design to festival organization and athlete performances. His movement passion is focused on kayaking, cliffdiving, bouldering, handstand acrobatics and highlining, which is slacklining high up in the sky. After his Master Degree, and two internships, one at the Manipal Institut of Technology in India and the other at Urban Farmers at Techno Park Zurich, he worked at the Institute of Polymer Engineering at the FHNW, pursuing projects together with EPFL, ESA and PSI and numerous industrial partners. His expertise lies in nonlinear compliant systems, damping and vibrations, distributed model predictive control, lightweight design and parametric construction. His love for creative processes and robotics lead him back to ETH Zurich, Architecture. |
