Halima Hassan is an industrial designer and architect currently working as a research assistant at Gramazio Kohler Research. Her main area of focus is teaching, with a particular emphasis on Computational Design III-IV and Coding Architecture I-II.

In 2017, Halima received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. In the same year, her passion for architecture and the built environment led her to pursue her studies in Architecture at ETH Zurich. After completing her Bachelor's degree in 2020, she undertook a one-year internship at Giuliani Hönger
Architects. She had the opportunity to work on multiple competitions, three of which were awarded the 1st prize.

During her Master's studies, she began working at Gramazio Kohler Research as a teaching assistant for the course "Computational Design III-IV". Additionally, Halima participated as a student in Prof. Fabio Gramazio’s and Prof. Mathias Kohler’s
first Immersive Design Studio, where she was introduced to computational design tools, leveraging parametric design methods directly within the design process, and critically assessing designs in 3D models using Virtual Reality.

In February 2023, Halima was granted a scholarship to attend the Norman Foster Foundation Workshop in Madrid. Subsequently, from March to August 2023, she had the opportunity to contribute to the development of the new core course "Coding Architecture I”, which was first offered in the Fall of 2023. Later that same year, in winter, she successfully completed her Master's thesis under the supervision of Prof. Roger Boltshauser.
